FAIRFIELD — A 36-point second quarter allowed Fairfield to blow by Bigfork for a 48-14 semifinal victory in the Class B football playoffs on Saturday afternoon.

Bigfork (9-2) held a 6-0 lead after the opening quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run by Randy Stultz. But there was no stopping Fairfield (11-0) after that as the Eagles scored five times in the second quarter and added another in third for a commanding 42-6 lead.

Bigfork was back on the board late in the third quarter thanks to a little trickery. Quarterback Anders Epperly hit Clayton Reichenbach for a 7-yard completion to the Fairfield 20. Reichenbach then pitched the ball back to Stultz who scampered the final 20 yards for the touchdown.

Stultz also ran for the two-point conversion.

Fairfield completed the scoring in the final quarter with a 20-yard run by Dawson Allen.

Allen ran 14 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and had a pair of touchdown receptions from Ryder Meyer.

Meyer also ran 61 yards for a score.

Fairfield had 414 yards (333 rushing and 81 passing) of total offense to 278 (157 and 121) for Bigfork.

Fairfield doubled Bigfork in first downs, 24-12, and won the turnover battle — Bigfork lost three fumbles while Fairfield was guilty of an interception.

Bigfork struggled in third-down situations, going 4-of-13. Fairfield was 9-of-14.

Bigfork gambled on fourth down six times, converting just once.
