BPCT “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” auditions on Nov. 15

| November 9, 2022 12:00 AM

Students in third grade or higher and adults are invited to audition for the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater’s annual Christmas production. This year they will be presenting “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” based on the classic animated movie.

The story tells the tale of a young Rudolph who, because of the appearance of his bright, shining nose, is ousted from the reindeer games in Christmas-town. He flees town, meets up with new friends Hermey and Yukon, and a series of funny and endearing adventures ensue including a visit to The Island of Misfit Toys and trouble from the abominable Snow Monster. Rudolph journeys home, where a snowstorm of epic proportions is threatening Christmas. Can Rudolph save his family and friends and help Santa save the holiday?

Auditions for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Afterschool Arts CENTER on Tuesday (November 15 – on 833 Grand Ave.) from 4:30 – 5:30 for grades 3 and 4, from 5:30 - 6:30 for Grade 5 – 7 and from 6:30-8:30 for grades 8 through Adult. This production calls for a medium sized cast and costs nothing to audition. There is a $50 fee to participate in the production if cast in the show. Please prepare a 30 second monologue or selection from another play or book, and plan to learn and sing something. If you don’t have experience or can’t find something to prepare, there will be materials at the center for you. Tentative rehearsal schedules will be at the auditions, and performances are set for Dec. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18.

Anyone who isn’t interested in stage work, but would like to be involved can contact Brach Thomson at bpct@bigforksummerplayhouse.com. Parental and student assistance is welcome.
