Jacqueline Amanda Creon was born Jan. 3, 1933, to Amandus John and Edna Muriel Creon. She had two brothers, Charles Amandus and Eugene Earl; and two sisters, Martha Muriel and Ardith Adina. Jackie grew up in Whitefish and attended Central School, which was grades 1 through 12 at the time, and graduated from high school in 1952. After graduation she worked for Dr. J.N. Constenius, a dentist in Whitefish, from 1952 to 1955. Jackie attended the University of Oregon Dental School in Portland from 1955 to 1957 where she received her dental hygiene degree.

Jackie worked for a children’s dentist in Eugene, Oregon, from 1957 to 1967. In 1967 Jackie returned to Whitefish and worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was the first female postal carrier in Montana from 1968 to 1992 when she retired.

Jackie enjoyed all kinds of crafts. She lived in a home on the property her parents purchased in 1921, until Feb. 6, 2013, and then resided at Whitefish Care and Rehab until the time of her death, March 7, 2019.

Jackie loved her dogs; they were all rescue dogs. At one point she had rescued 13 and they all loved her and were happy that she rescued them. More often than not, Jackie knew the dogs before she knew their humans. She always said, “The more she saw humans, the more she loved her dogs.” Whilley was her last dog who shared her last days with her. He brought her comfort and peace.

No services are being held at this time. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
