Citing high and constantly rising housing costs, the cabal that runs Whitefish frequently and vocally proclaims its intent to promote construction of low-cost housing in Whitefish, but never seems quite willing to do anything significant to accomplish it. Have you ever been 'stalked' by an ad? Here's why
Having recently moved to Montana, it’s become evident that I must explore this magical place. The mountains, lakes, trails and valleys beckon me, so naturally, I’ve had to buy hiking boots, bear spray, snowshoes, jackets, bike gear as well as various other items to help me “properly” get around. Not to mention the studded snow tires for my wife’s Prius. That was a necessary purchase.

Creative problem-solving needed in Glacier Park
So Glacier National Park is considering a “one car in, one car out” policy at venues on dead-end roads such as Bowman Lake due to overcrowded parking causing a “safety issue.” I wonder how often emergency vehicles have had a problem getting to where they were needed at the lake. Not to mention that it seems to me a helicopter would be more useful in providing timely intervention and not be affected by overcrowded parking. My guess is that there are fewer than 50 parking spaces (excluding the campground itself) for the whole site, including people parking for multi-day backcountry hiking.

Republican lawmakers say they delivered
As the 2017 legislative session has come to an end, we want to make sure that Montanans have a clear view of what’s happened the past few months in Helena. The mission of the Senate and House Republicans from Day One has been to help create more opportunities for all Montanans by making our state a better place to work, live and do business. Government should work in service to the people, not the other way around. In large part this means fighting against policies that increase taxes, grow government and take from the citizens of Montana.
