Florence Parker

Florence Parker, age 93, died of natural causes at her home in Kalispell, Mont. on Aug. 7. She was born on June 2, 1911 at Rosalia, Kan. the daughter of Joseph and Orpha (Songer) Winthrow.

She was educated in Englewood, Kan. She was an avid piano player as a young lady. She played with her father for many dances and celebrations.

She married Orville N. Parker on Aug. 4, 1928 at Liipscomb, Texas. She moved to the Flathead Valley in 1936 and Vancouver in 1942, where she worked in th shipyards as a progress checker until 1945 when she returned to Montana.

Florence was a loveable mother and grandmother, the pillar of strength and love for family and friends and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, a brother, son, granddaughter, and grandson.

She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Orville Parker of Kalispell, three daughters, Billie Nelson and husband Earl of Kalispell, Betty Wise of Kalispell, Chrystal Schomock of Nikiska Alaska, son Bobby Parker and wife Phyllis of Bigfork, two brothers, two sisters, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Johnson Mortuary Chapel. A private, family burial service will be at the Wise Cemetery.
