Edna Olsen Jensen

Edna Olsen Jensen, age 92, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born August 9, 1911 in Minden, Nebraska to Chris and Christina (Grosskurth) Olsen.

Edna was one of four daughters. Her father died when she was young and her uncles helped Christina and the girls. The extended family moved to Hallock, Minnesota where Edna and her sisters went to school. Her uncles farmed and her mother worked as a homemaker and dressmaker. Edna moved to Junction City Ore. in 1948 where she met her future husband while working in the hotel that he owned. James Jensen also worked in a lumber mill. The couple married at Faith Lutheran Church in Junction City in 1950 and raised one daughter. Edna was employed at a nursing home and a flower shop once her daughter started college. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was active in Northridge Lutheran Church in Kalispell and was a member of Rebecca's Lodge in Ore. James died in 1985 and in 1990 Edna moved to Buffalo Hill Terrace in Kalispell.

She is survived by one daughter; Edna Neils and her husband Ralph of Kalispell, and four grandchildren; Heather, Tim, Stacy, and Greg.

Memorial services for Edna Jensen were held Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Northridge Lutheran Church in Kalispell with Pastor Dan Hackett officiating. Burial was at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene Ore.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
