John Paul Brandewie

John Paul Brandewie of Bigfork was born June 20, 1950. His death on August 5, 2004, at St. Patricks Hospital in Missoula Montana, was caused by a massive stroke.

His livelihood included heavy-machinery mechanics, the operation of heavy machinery, and long-haul trucking. From working on the Libby Dam, logging, and much construction, he enjoyed the companionship of many wonderful friends.

John is preceded in death by his brother Joe in 1973, and by his father, William John (Bud) Brandewie in 1974, and also by his paternal grandparents, William John (Doc) and Edith Knapke Brandewie. Also preceded by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Mattie (Fox) Morton.

He is survived by his four children, Paulyn LeFever of Bend, Ore. William Lee (Bill) and his wife Renee, Kayla Danielle, and Rebecca Jo Brandewie all of Bigfork.

His four grandchildren are Michael, Phillip, Erica and Dustin LeFever. John is survived by his mother, Melva Morton Brandewie, other survivors are his sister Jean Smith and her daughter Michele and husband Pat Rosman and their sons, Cole and Owen of Creston Washington, Katie and husband Clint Cottle and their daughter Karlee of Polson and Amanda Smith of Creston Washington. Surviving aunts and uncles on his maternal side are Bill Morton of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Dee and LaVera Morton of Swan Lake, Don and Caroline Morton of Polson, Charles and Pat Phillips of Kalispell, and numerous cousins. There are no surviving aunts or uncles on the paternal side. Surviving cousins are Ray and Teresa Brandewie and their four children and Ray's niece and nephew.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 14, at the Bigfork Chapel, Assembly of God.
