Referee clinic

A referee clinic will be held at the Summit from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 31 for students interested in being referees. Referees are needed in the Columbia Falls Youth Soccer league. Referees are paid for their services. The association will pay for cost of clinic. Call 892-7699 for more information.

MASH Bash

The North Valley Hospital Foundation will hold its annual MASH Bash Aug. 27. The event, where folks dress up as their favorite MASH characters for a dinner, is great fun and raises money for the foundation. Call 863-3531 for more information.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce has its first general membership meeting of the fall on Sept. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This meeting welcomes new teachers to the district.

Golf scramble

The Chamber golf scramble and barbecue will take place at 2 p.m., Sept. 12, with a meal at 4 p.m. at the West Glacier golf course. Call 892-2072 or 892-7283 for more information.

Engine show

The annual antique engine and threshing show and bee will be held Sept. 11-12 at Olsen Pioneer Park off Pioneer Road beginning at 10 a.m. each day. Cost is $4. Call Nick at 253-2213 for more information.

Membership drive

The North Valley Senior Citizens are having a membership drive. You must be at least 50 years old. Annual dues are $10, and meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. There is also a host of activities, and bus transportation to the facility is provided. Call 892-4087 for more information.

Open house

Dolan Family Vision, at 20 Village Loop, Kalispell, at the corner of Whitefish Stage Road and West Evergreen Drive, will have an open house Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Door prizes will be available. Call 756-8420 for more information.

Golf tourney

Lutheran Social Services of Montana is hosting its third annual golf tournament on Aug. 28 at the Polson Country Club. The tournament is in support of pregnancy counseling services. The shotgun start is at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28. Registration is $75 per person or $300 per team and includes lunch. Grand prize is $400. Hole-in-one prize is a 2004 VW convertible. Hockey coaching

The Glacier Hockey Association is presenting Level I and Level II coaching clinics this weekend. The Level I clinic takes place Saturday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Saddle Club in the Mountain Trails Park in Whitefish.
