'Fahrenheit 9-11' entertaining; worth seeing

| July 13, 2004 11:00 PM

We went to Mike Moore's movie, "Fahrenheit 9-11." Of course we have watched interviews with differing opinions offered on the TV, the big hype to stop it from being shown and all that, plus the hate radio in our valley jabbering away condemning it as anti-American. Moore couldn't ask for more publicity!

At any rate, we both enjoyed the film. It is pretty cool and funny in most instances and the audience breaks out laughing many times.

The music is descriptive and poignant by the songs he uses and where he puts them in. I was impressed. Don't think I could have done better myself. Best part is, Moore doesn't appear much at all.

So, if you want to judge for yourself and don't feel like your neighbors will tag you as a communist or pro-Al Quaida type of character, go see it.

Yes, there is some very serious stuff and not a dry eye in the place toward the end, but overall it is very good.

Personally, I like the part of actual war footage and the soldiers talking. Pro and con comments.

If you see it, the real gung-ho boys are just exactly what I was at one time in my life, and I could make the emotional attachment to them as well as feel sorry for what lies ahead of them.

I haven't been to very many movies where the audience simultaneously broke into applause when a movie ended. There is a reason for it. It's done well.
