Albert Joseph Christian

Albert Joseph Christian, 87, died Thursday Sept. 30, 2004, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre of natural causes.

Albert was born March 24, 1917, in Whitefish, to John and Josephine Christian. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad, which later became Burlington Northern Railroad, for 40 years, retiring in 1977. Albert married Anna (Peggy) O' Connell on Oct. 31, 1945, in Great Falls. The couple then moved to Havre in 1950. The couple had four children. Albert dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

His life revolved around his family, and he loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed having his family around him on birthdays and holidays. Albert was a member of St. Jude's Church and the Knights of Columbus. After retiring, Albert and his wife did some traveling prior to his wife's death in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna (Peggy) Christian, brothers Tony, Louie, Frank, and one sister Rose.

Albert is survived by sister, Eva Christian of Whitefish; daughters, Aline (Bill) Miller of Redmond, Ore., Clara (Robert) Litzinger of Havre, sons, John (Julie) Christian of Havre, Frank Christian of Havre; grandchildren, Terry Miller of Redmond, Ore., Scott Christian, Michael (Cathee) Litzinger, Jody (Jason) Keeling, Jim (Melissa) Litzinger, Cory Litzinger, Tony Christian, and John Christian all of Havre, Michelle (Kenny) Tanner of Great Falls, Heather (Aaron) Bricker of Great Falls; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Oct. 5 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert Grosch officiating. Memorials in honor of Albert may be made to St. Jude School Education Trust Fund, 624 Fourth Street, Havre, MT 59501 or to one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
