Look at our problems first

| October 13, 2004 11:00 PM

To the editor,

The U.S. uses yellow tape to prevent contamination and/or damage to a crime scene. It's used for gun-point crime at our local stores, kidnappings, murders and fires. After Sept. 11, 2001, the White House took extra precautions by placing barricades in front of the White House and yellow tape to further extend the boundary.

Our country was and still is a crime scene. Let's barricade our borders/close the door. Let's encircle the U.S. with yellow tape and investigate problem areas now before we are so infiltrated that the crime scene is contaminated and damaged beyond repair.

Bring home our wonderful troops to man our borders and pay them well for their trained ability to defend our country. Don't let anyone in that even looks suspicious, and throw any troublemakers out.

If we, as taxpayers, pay for this service and there is money left over, use it to educate countries. Most problems can be resolved because of education. Use the Ten Commandments, wash your hands, encourage high morals, insist on rules and regulations, come down hard on businesses that rip off the consumer, and prisons can provide for themselves.

Keeping undesirables at a distance, locking the door and protecting our ability to provide for our family and country's future should be the number one priority.
