Bissell School relies on community support

| September 29, 2004 11:00 PM

As we begin a new school year at Bissell, we are hoping to enrich our curriculum by providing our students experiences outside the walls of our classrooms.

Activities that we hope to provide to our students at minimal costs are: swimming and water safety lessons for third- and fourth-graders, overnight outdoor education for fifth-and sixth-graders, a Montana History Trip for the seventh- and eighth-graders, and Missoula Children's Theater for the entire school.

We are a small rural school with limited resources. Due to this small budget we have had to finance trips such as these through magazine and candy drives, Christmas card sales and auctions. The fund-raising has involved a lot of time by students and staff; time we feel could be put to better use.

"It takes a community to raise a child," so we are asking for your help. Please consider helping us provide these above-mentioned enriching educational experiences by making a tax-deductible contribution to Bissell School. We would also encourage you to come by and share your talents with our students.

We welcome anyone that would like to visit us and meet our wonderful students and caring staff. Our school is located at 5955 Farm to Market Road in the beautiful countryside of Whitefish.

Thank you,
