Whitefish CARE grateful for back-to-school bash support
On Sept. 1, Whitefish CARE sponsored the first back-to-school bash in its history. Whitefish CARE's mission is to promote a safe and drug free school environment and a community network through education, intervention, and prevention that will support continued healthy lifestyles for youth. The back-to-school bash had something for everyone and we want to thank all those businesses, groups and individuals who helped make this first time event such a success.
Thank you, Storm Snow and Skate, Stumptown Snowboards, The Sportsman and Ski House, Rising Sun Bistro, Wrap and Roll, Bookworks, Dairy Queen, Mrs. Spoonover's, for your generous donations of items and gift certificates raffled off as a fund-raiser for Whitefish CARE.
Thank you to the Whitefish High School teams who were involved. We thank the volleyball, boys and girls soccer, cheerleaders, football, golf, and their coaches for their involvement in the kids carnival. Also thank you to local church youth groups from First Baptist, Christ Lutheran, St. Peter Lutheran, United Methodist, St. Charles, and Whitefish Four Square for helping with the carnival. Thank you to Keven Guercio and crew who built the ramps for the skateboard portion of the evening and to Sierra Fellers for skating in the demo.
The support from the schools was incredible and a big thank you needs to be given to Jerry House, Kerry Drown, Jeff Peck, Jill Rocksund and student resource officer George Kimerly for personally attending the event. Thanks also to Dale Duff for the shuttle and The Whitefish Credit Union for give away prizes. Thank you to the Whitefish Pilot and Bee Broadcasting for promoting this event as well as Ross Strauser for being our emcee.
Our entire community is involved in shaping and encouraging our young people. Thank you to all who attended the back-to-school bash. Thank you to the Whitefish CARE board members who gave of themselves fully for this event. Let us all continue to show our young people that we value them by getting to know them by name, creating safe neighborhoods and supporting our schools. We all can make a huge difference in the lives of the future generations.
Thank you!
