Softball has an up and down week

The Columbia Falls softball team had an up and down week.

They beat Browning last Tuesday 9-2, but didn't do so well at the Frenchtown tourney, losing to the Frenchtown Broncs JV squad, 16-12, and Loyola, 6-3.

Leah Bukowski went 4-for-6, but the team had trouble producing runs in the first game, and the Broncs just plain outscored them in the second.

The win against Browning, however, was a conference 'W,' which will help the Kats' playoffs hopes.

Against Browning, Kym Island, Amanda Puryer and Stephanie Davis went 2-for-4 at the plate. Island had a double, and Davis had four RBIs.

It was the Kats' second win of the year, making them 2-6 on the season, because they were drubbed by St. Ignatius Tuesday, 18-8.
