Douglas Bruce Tibke
Douglas Bruce Tibke, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.
He was born Aug. 22, 1920 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Jacob and Sena Tibke. In 1921, the family moved to Cascade where they lived until moving to Kalispell in 1934.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of operations.
He was married to Marguerite V. Johnston on April 27, 1944.
He farmed and ranched and logged in various parts of Montana before returning to the Flathead in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite, a son Darwin, three sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his son, Edwin Tibke of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Abraham of Kalispell; Grace Hanson of Cut Bank; and Betty Held of Bigfork; three grandsons, Ron and Don Tibke of Helena, and Reno Tibke of Portland, Ore.; and many great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Arrangements are with the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
Larry C. Lambert
Larry C. Lambert, 58, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7 at his home in Columbia Falls.
He was born February 6, 1947 in Livingston to Clifford H. and Novia A. Lambert. He was raised and educated in Livingston.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 including a tour in Vietnam.
After he was discharged from the Army, he returned to Livingston where he went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He was later transferred to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in Whitefish where he worked until the time of his death.
He loved to fish and travel with his wife to Oregon. He loved deep sea fishing and his family. He collected dragon statues of all sorts. He liked drag racing cars and enjoyed going to Las Vegas when possible to show the states to his wife.
Larry is preceded in death by his father Clifford H. Lambert on July 26, 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, E. JoAnne Lambert of Columbia Falls; his mother, Novia A. Lambert; a step-daughter, Holly O'Dell; a step-son, Jack Davis; two sisters, Donna Chenowith and Jan Van Gorp of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and five grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. No services will be held. His ashes will be scattered later in Oregon.
