Ruby Loy
Ruby E. Loy passed away Aug. 11, 2005, of congestive heart failure at the age of 86.
She was born to Christian and Emma Bern on June 20, 1919, in Sinai, S.D. Ruby moved with her family to Kalispell in 1935, and she graduated from Flathead High School in 1937.
She married Bill Loy of Kalispell in 1942, and the couple moved to Whitefish in 1947, where Bill worked for, and was later owner/manager, of Whitefish Furniture.
Ruby was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mom. She loved music and had a fun sense of humor. She was active at Christ Lutheran Church, where the family attended. She and Bill moved back to Kalispell in 1982. Bill died in 2002, just before their 60th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her children, Ginni Siblerud and husband Lonnie, of Spokane; Julie Grenrood and husband David, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; Doug Loy and wife Sandy, of Whitefish; her sister, Bernice Rasmussen, of Kalispell; four granddaughters; and eight great grandchildren — all boys.
There will be a memorial service for Ruby at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions can be given to the church if desired.
