Eleanora Frieda Adams
Eleanora Frieda Adams, 92, went home to be with her Lord on Jan. 25, 2005. She was born in Philips-burg, Mont., on Dec. 23, 1912, the eighth child of nine, to Henry and Marie (Stier) Steber. Eleanora was raised and educated in Philipsburg.
Eleanora worked at the Granite County Courthouse in various offices such as County Agent and Welfare. She was County Treasurer and Deputy, County Assessor and Deputy Clerk of Court. Eleanora was a charter member of the Philipsburg Community Church.
Eleanora married Asa Naef in 1933 and there were three children born of this union. Asa passed away in 1957.
On Sept. 12, 1980, Eleanora married Freddie Adams and moved to Sparks, Nev., where Freddie worked as a carpenter. After his retirement, they moved to White Sulphur Springs to be near their daughter Marie. They then lived in Helena for a couple of years before Freddie's passing in 1988. Eleanora moved to Bigfork and resided there for 14 years before entering Lake View Care Center. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge with the "girls," doing crossword puzzles and traveling with Freddie to visit friends and relatives.
Eleanora was preceded in death by first husband Asa Naef, second husband Freddie Adams, son Ronald Naef, her parents, four sisters: Elizabeth Courtney, Marguerite Frost, Etta McKenna and Helen Crnich; four brothers: Carl, Otto, Philip and Walter Steber.
Survivors include: son John and Judy Naef, Sumner, Wash.; daughter Marie and Dale Dean, Bigfork; grandchildren David and Brenda Dean, children Joshua and Dylan, Billings; Regan and Peggy Dean, children Mattea, Seth, Holly of Butte; Robin and Stephanie Dean, children Amanda, Erin, Jordan, Florence, Mont.; Paula Marvin and children Mallerie and Dustin, Sumner, Wash.; Lisa and Darrell and Janessa Phillips of Everett, Wash.; Gayle and Steve Zientek, children Gabe, Jordan, Andrea, Mich.; Russell Naef, Pavillion, Wyo.; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law Babette Naef, Las Vegas.
Celebration of Life service was conducted at Philipsburg Community Church, Monday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Delbert Abbey officiating. Interment followed in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Family requests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Services are under the care of the KT Riddle Funeral Homes, Philipsburg.
