The Columbia Falls City elections look to be a rather ho-hum affair, unless there's a host of write-in candidates.

Councilwoman Jolie Fish is the lone candidate for Mayor. Incumbent Harvey Reikofski Jr., Michael Shepard and Charles McCubbins are running unopposed for four-year terms on the council.

Doug Karper is running unopposed for the two-year term on council.

Reikofski and Karper were first named to their seats after Claudette Hohn and Sam Hagen moved away.

Now they are running for election unopposed.

Shepard, meanwhile, looks to return to council after he resigned in 2000.

Prior to his resignation, he had been on the council for five years.

Not seeking re-election are incumbent Mayor Susan Nicosia and incumbent Councilman Tad Rosenberry.

There was one other candidate interested in a post on the council, according to the county elections office, but their application and filing fee were received a day late.

The application may still be valid, election officials noted. The office was looking into the law to see if it was. In the event it is not, the current council would be a body short.

The only person on council who wasn't up for re-election was incumbent Don Barnhart.
