| July 27, 2005 11:00 PM

Plum Creek Land Company has proposed a 36-lot major subdivision on 436 acres in the Swan Valley 4 miles south of Ferndale on Highway 83, according to a public notice July 20 from the Lake County Planning Department.

The Big Hawk Major Subdivision proposal would create 36 residential lots ranging from 5 acres to 26 acres in size with individual wells and septic systems. The property is located in Portions of S19, T26N, R18W, Lake County. Assuming no delays in the process, a public hearing on the proposal would be held in September.

The entire application submittal may be viewed at Lake County Planning Department, Room 315, of the Lake County Courthouse.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in the large conference room of the Lake County Courthouse, the Lake County Planning Board will hold an introductory meeting open to the public on the proposal. The required public hearing for the proposal will be held in August.

The county planning board encourages the public to attend these meetings and voice any comments they may have on the proposal. The planning department will accept written comment on the proposal to be included in the information packet sent to the planning board this month. This comment must be received prior to 10 a.m., Aug. 2. There will also be an opportunity to submit comment to the board for the August public hearing.
