Mary Joyce Kelly
Mary Joyce Kelly, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2005, at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.
She was born Oct. 23, 1930, in New Orleans to Clemont and Elsie (Chandezon) Dumesnil. Mary received her early education in Louisiana and continued her education in Port Arthur, Texas, where she graduated from high school.
She married LeRoy Joseph Viator on June 15, 1946, in Port Arthur, and the couple later divorced. Mary worked at Spooner Photo until moving to Beaumont, Texas, where she worked for Fox Photo for 25 years. In 1969, she moved to Long Beach, Calif., to care for her mother.
Mary met and married Earl Kelly in 1971, in Long Beach, and they later divorced. In 1985, she moved to Lawton, Okla., where she returned to school and received her bachelor's degree in accounting and bookkeeping. Mary worked in this field for a short time before moving to Columbia Falls to live with her daughter and grandchildren in 2001. Mary loved to paint and work with ceramics and all kinds of crafts.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and her son-in-law, Michael B. Johnson Sr. in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Johnson, of Columbia Falls; five grandchildren, Mary Elise Hall and David Stephen Wright, both of Beaumont, Michael B. Johnson Jr., Jaquelyn Elizabeth Johnson and Samantha Gail Johnson, all of Columbia Falls; three great-grandsons, Michael Wayne Hall, Matthew Dustin Hall and Christopher Allen Wright; and one brother, Clemont Floyd Dumesnil and wife, Heldi, of Lawton, Okla.

Majella "Della" Gwen
(Shannon) Jones
Majella "Della" Gwen (Shannon) Jones, age 79, passed away Friday, May 27 at Heritage Place. Majella was born Feb. 27, 1926 in Kalispell. Della married Raymond U. Jones in Great Falls in 1949. They were divorced in 1970. They had five children. Della was an accomplished seamstress and made many clothes for her children as they grew up. She also enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint canvas.
Della was very much into capturing memories with her camera.
She had fun going over the pictures and giving them away. Della will be missed by her family and friends very much. She added a bit of sunshine to everything she did. We love you Della! See you in the heavens.
Della is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosemary Shannon, two brothers Robert and Harry, one sister, Norma Shannon and two sons, Richard Dale Jones and Ralph Edward Jones. Della is survived by her twin sister, Cecilia Marie of Jonesboro, Ark., a brother Dick Cassutt of Fort Benton; another sister Rosalie Fitzhenry of Onarga, Fla. Two sons, Raymond Michael Jones of Davenport, Wash., and Robert Finas Jones of Martin City; one daughter Edna Diana Jones of Columbia Falls; grandson Jason Jacobsen and great grandson Mason Jacobsen of Chester.
Memorial services for Della was held on June 2 at 3 p.m. at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Jean Klein - Syth
Jean Klein - Syth passed from this world Thursday, June 2, 2005, in the presence of her family.
Jean was born in Boston, Mass., January 26, 1918. She was the second child of Harry O. and Mona Viola McKee. The McKees moved to Montana and homesteaded on Charley Creek in Richland County. Jean attended school in Andes and in 1933 moved with the family to New Deal during the construction days of the Fort Peck Dam.
This is where she met and married Norbert Klein on Dec. 22, 1936.
In the early 1940s, they moved to the Flathead Valley north of Columbia Falls where they homesteaded and raised their two sons Gordon and John.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her many hobbies, crafts and gardening. She also had several different careers with her favorite being working at the Whitefish Flower Shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands - Norbert Klein in 1982 and Bernard Syth in 1999, two sisters - Myrna in 1972 and Olive in 2005.
Jean is survived by her brother Bill, her sister Melva, her sons, Gordon and John, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and graveside services at Glacier Memorial Gardens will be at a later date still to be determined. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hagler-Anderson Funeral Home.
