Allen D. Jensen
Allen D. Jensen, age 55, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.
He was born on March 6, 1950, in Polson, the son of Harlan Otto and Marilyn Kay Upham (Herman) Jensen.
Allen received his early education in Polson and graduated from Polson High School where he was a member of the FFA.
Allen worked at Montana Wax and Wood and as a finish carpenter. He loved working with wood. For many years he worked at the Polson post office. Allen also worked for M & S Meats as a meat cutter and was a volunteer firefighter in both Polson and Somers for 17 years. He served in the U. S. Army from 1969 to 1972 receiving an Honorable Discharge.
He moved to Washington where he worked for the Washington State Ferry System. Aug. 4, 1990, he married Velma Peterson in Edmonds, Washington.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Bigfork. He enjoyed camping, being in the outdoors, rock hunting with his grand children, feeding birds and squirrels, and the solitude of taking long walks with his dog Buster. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a generous big heart. He liked playing practical jokes.
Allen is preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Jensen in 1985 and his father, Harlan Jensen in 2005.
He is now survived by his wife Velma Jensen of the Many Lakes area of Kalispell; one daughter; Jennifer Faye Jensen of Kalispell; two sons; Glenn Michael Dullum/Jensen of Kalispell; and Clint Daniel Jensen of Kalispell; two brothers; Tim Jensen of Kalispell and Kenneth Jensen of Bigfork; one sister Elaine Hecker of Chicago; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Allen Dean Jensen was held Friday, June 3, 2005, at Community United Methodist Church in Bigfork, with Pastor Jan Witman officiating.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Bigfork VFW Post 4042, P.O. Box 645, Bigfork, MT 59911.
