Horsemen meet

The Back Country Horsemen of the Flathead will hold their regular monthly meeting on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fish, Wildlife and Parks building in Kalispell. The meeting is open to the public, and all are welcome. Members wishing to participate in 2005 work projects need to come at 6:15 p.m. for a portion of the required Defensive Horsemanship Training. Student of the week

Donna Burns, a junior at Columbia Falls High School has been selected student of the Week for the week of March 28. She was nominated because she is a very hard working individual who has a job as well as maintains a high honor grade point average in school. Above all, Donna is polite, respectful and enthusiastic. Donna is the daughter of Donald and Nancy Burns, of Columbia Falls, and Linda Polzin, of Martin City, and she receives a personal pan pizza compliments of Pizza Hut. 

Forest talk

Forest Service historian Jerry Williams will speak Wednesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. at the Museum at Central School in Kalispell. Williams will talk about the Forest Service's past 100 years and fill in details of its colorful history. For more information, call the Forest Service at 758-5252, or the Museum at Central School at 756-8381.

Senior dinner

Potluck dinner and annual meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 1, at North Valley Senior Center. Election of officers is scheduled.

Eagles potluck

North Valley Eagles will have their Polish potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. April 1. Public is welcome to attend. Cost is $5.

Oklahoma!

The Columbia Falls High School drama club will put on the musical Oklahoma! Shows are April 1, 2, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. at the Columbia Falls High School Little Theater. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and $5 for seniors. They're available at the door or at Glacier Wallflower and Western Outdoors.

Mountain madness

The annual Mountain Madness Motocross is April 24 at the Hungry Horse track. Registration is 6 to 9 p.m. April 23 and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Fees range from $30 to $20. Gate admission is $7. Children under 12 with parent are free. Event benefits Columbia Falls Kiwanis Club. Call 892-7283 for more information.

Children's theater

Ruder Elementary will host the Missoula Children's Theater Production of The Fog Prince, April 9. Shows are at 3 and 7 p.m. at the Ruder gymnasium. Auditions are April 4 after school.

Kayak film festival

On April 6, Silver Moon Kayak Company will present the National Paddling Film Festival road show from 7-9 p.m. in the Flathead High School auditorium. Tickets will be $11 at the door or $10 in advance at Chloe Sports, Runner Up Sports, Electric Avenue Books and Silver Moon Kayak Co. A portion of the proceeds will go to American Whitewater, a non-profit organization that works to protect waterways. Door prizes and a whitewater kayak will be given away.
