Oppose nuclear option

| May 19, 2005 11:00 PM

A recent Washington Post/ ABC news poll shows that 66 percent of those surveyed oppose changing the Senate's rules to prohibit the use of filibusters.

Yet radical Republicans are pressing on in an attempt to seize control of the judiciary so they can deliver campaign promises to corporate interests and the radical right.

This is inappropriate in a country so evenly divided. Now more than ever, we need the checks and balances that our forefathers provided. Call our senators today and urge them to oppose the "nuclear option."
