NVH 100 years

North Valley Hospital will celebrate its groundbreaking and first 100 years today from 1-6 p.m. at its facility site at U.S. Highway 93 and Montana Highway 40 in Whitefish.

There will be a Ceremony at 2 p.m., followed by a BBQ dinner from 4-6 p.m. with fun and festivities throughout the day and it's all free. For more information, call 863-3630.

Toastmasters

There is a new Toastmasters International club starting in Columbia Falls. The next meeting will be May 16 from noon to 1 p.m. The meetings are being held at the City Hall council chambers. The Toastmasters meet the first and third Mondays of the month. People interested in becoming better communicators and leaders of the community are invited to attend. Volunteer sought

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber Of Commerce is seeking a part time volunteer maintenance person that would be able to do some odd jobs around the

Student of the week

Niko Swift, a freshman at Columbia Falls High School, has been selected Student of the Week of May 9. He was nominated because he is such a great inspiration. The CFHS faculty and staff make nominations for student of the week. Niko is the son of Kevin and Rosanna Fagerland of Columbia Falls and receives a personal pan pizza compliment of Pizza Hut.

Christian women

The Columbia Falls Women's Connection meets at 9:30 a.m. at Los Caporales for brunch. Cost is $7.50. Guest speaker is Bernie Bailey of Great Falls. Call 892-0316 or 892-5990 for more information or to make reservations.

Adopt a bridge?

The Old Steel bridge is available to anyone willing to assume the responsibility of mantaining it. The 1894 bridge will be given away to someone willing to relocate it, maintain and assume liability for it. MDT will also provide $17,000 to help with the cost of transporting or rehabbing the 140-foot span and $20,000 for the 220 foot truss. Call Kent Barnes at (406) 444-6260 by June 15, 2005.
