I would like to let the town of Whitefish know what a class act they have in their football team and coaching staff.

Recently, our team, the Dillon Beavers, played your team, and it was one of the cleanest games I have observed in a long time. There was no trash talking, cheapshots or personal fouls.

In a day and time that bad behavior is seen in professional sports, it is good to see teens playing sports for the fun of it.

We have a tradition in Dillon that the seniors walk the field hand-in-hand after their last home game. The Whitefish team stood aside and applauded our seniors as they took their senior stroll. There was not a dry eye in the stadium at the class the Whitefish shared with our team.

After the game, the teams ate together and discussed the game, in fun and not animosity.

I again would like to thank the town of Whitefish on the opportunity to share your team with ours. Hopefully, other towns can learn from the great sportsmanship that was shared on Saturday.
