Michael Sachkowsky

Michael Sachkowsky Sr., 93, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

Mike was born Oct. 8, 1912, in Russia to John and Katherine Sachkowsky. He moved to the United States in 1926. He lived in South River, N.J., where he attended high school.

Mike married Mary Sernicky on Nov. 22, 1941, in Elizabeth, N.J.

Mike worked his whole life as a machinist. Mike and his wife Mary moved to Montana in October 2005.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Jersey. He loved fishing, and especially traveling with his wife, Mary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sachkowsky, of Whitefish; sons Michael Sachkowsky, of Columbia Falls, and Peter Sachkowsky, of Howard, Pa.; daughter Cathy Sachkowsky, of Ringwood, N.J.; and grandsons Michael and Jay Sachkowsky, both of New Jersey.

Funeral services took place Nov. 11, 2005, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with burial at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
