Suspicious fires under investigation

A suspicious fire is being investigated by authorities at Glacier Mountain Shadows hotel.

The fire, which caused substantial damage to the structure late Tuesday night, was believed to have been arson.

Flathead County Sheriff's Detective Pat Walsh said that the fire appears to have been set in several places and that a large-scale investigation is underway.

The fire comes on the heels of a suspected arson just down the street last week at the Ol' River Bridge Inn.

That fire appears to have started in an outbuilding outside the inn. The fire destroyed the outbuilding and damaged the motel section of the inn as well.

The inn was unoccupied at the time.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
