Michael Robert "Jorgie" Jorgensen

Michael Robert "Jorgie" Jorgensen, 50, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 27, 1955, in Provo, Utah, to Richard Henry and Mary Jolene (McKell) Jorgensen. The family moved to Missoula where Jorgie received his early education.

He continued on at the University of Montana, graduating with his bachelor's degree. He then moved to Kalispell where he owned and operated Sound West on Main Street for many years. Jorgie then went into the radio business in sales, becoming a sales manager for KOFI. At the time of his passing he was part owner of KOFI.

Jorgie was an avid golfer, fly fisherman and loved riding his Harley Davidson. He often said, "I need to golf more, fish more and ride more." Jorgie was also a staunch supporter of Grizzly athletics. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sister, Joni Anderson and her husband, Rob, of Alpine, Utah; his three nephews, Jace, Brock and Tyson Anderson. He also leaves behind his German shepherd, Cali.

A celebration of Jorgie's life will be held at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Bull Dog Convention Center in the Outlaw Inn.
