In support of Morrison

| April 26, 2006 11:00 PM

I am writing in support of John Morrison in his bid for the U.S. Senate. I want the people of this state to know what a wonderful job he is doing for our state and how much he cares about each and every one of us.

Mr. Morrison had a very big impact on my family. He actually kept us from losing our home and savings. A few years ago, I was faced with a medical crisis, and when I approached my insurance company to get approval for surgery, my request was denied.

I went through the usual appeals and played by all their rules, and in the end was denied again. I went ahead with the surgery, paying for it with a second mortgage on our home and hoping to still prevail with my insurance company. I hired an attorney and ended up suing the insurance company.

The lawsuit went on for two years, and finally we won in court and had a judgement against the company, only to have them file for bankruptcy protection. Morrison, in his position as State Insurance Commissioner, was put in charge of overseeing the running of this insurance company and making sure things were handled properly.

Our insurance company tried every loophole they could find to dodge their obligations, not only to us but all their other clients. Mr. Morrison and his office kept us informed regularly on the status of our claim, and even though the insurance company tried to hide assets and bleed money from their accounts, Morrison put a stop to it. I truly felt like we had a friend looking out for us.

In the end, we received a check for the amount of our claim plus interest on all those years we had waited for our insurance company to do the right thing. The check came through Mr. Morrison's office, and he literally saved us from losing our home.

John Morrison cares about each of us, no matter how big or small we are. He watches out for all of our interests, and I would so like to see him in the U.S. Senate, where he could do even more. Please consider your choices this year and vote for a truly great person.
