Community Choir

The Columbia Falls Community Choir will begin practices Jan. 7 from 2-4 p.m. Sundays at the Columbia Falls Junior High. Sign-in and music pickup is from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the first practice. There are 12 practices this year, with the final rehearsal March 30. The concert is March 31. For more information, call 892-5174.

Mass

St. Richard's Catholic Church will celebrate a Christmas candlelight mass at 7 p.m. Dec. 24 with mass at 10 a.m. Christmas day.

Meet and greet

State Representative Doug Cordier and State Senator Dan Weinberg are co-hosting a town meeting for the Columbia Falls/Canyon/North Fork areas this Thursday, December 21 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. in the Columbia Falls High School Cafeteria. Cordier, of Columbia Falls, and Weinberg, of Whitefish, represent the Columbia Falls area in the Montana State Legislature. The next legislative session will begin in about two weeks, on Jan. 3.

Gateway concerts

Glacier Gateway Elementary will have its holiday concerts on Dec. 21 (today) at the high school's Little Theater. Performances will be at 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. One or two of each grade will perform at each time. Programs include singing and instrumental performances.

Ruder concerts

Ruder Elementary students will perform holiday concerts today for the fourth and fifth grades today (Thursday) Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at the school.

Early release

The following is the early release schedule for Friday, Dec. 22 at School District Six:

Glacier Gateway: 1:05 p.m.

High School: 1:15 p.m. Junior High: 1:21 p.m.

Ruder: 1:25 p.m.

Canyon: 1:30 p.m.

School will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Toastmasters

The Columbia Falls speaks Toastmasters meets on Jan. 2 from noon to 1 p.m. at Columbia Falls City Council Chambers.

Phi Theta Kappa

Flathead Valley Community College inducted its newest members into Phi Theta Kappa of the Alpha Iota Pi Chapter Nov. 14. Each inductee of the international honor society of two-year colleges obtained at least 12 credit hours from FVCC while receiving a minimum grade point average of 3.5:

From Columbia Falls, Patricia Ervin, Justin Lynch and Janette Nelson were all recently named to the society.
