Margarita Butts

Margarita Butts, 84, died at a local nursing home on Wednesday, Dec.14, 2005.

Margarita was born Oct. 8, 1921 in Crowheart, WY to Joseph Ernest and Frances Eulalia (Valdez) Henry. She moved with her family to the Keystone area in the Black Hills in 1927. She married Clark H. Butts on July 4, 1943, at Hill City. They resided in Keystone following their marriage until 1955, when the family moved to Bigfork. Margarita was a cook at the school there.After Clark's retirement for the Forest Service, they moved back to the Rapid City area in 1980. Margarita was a member of Blessed Sacrament parish in Rapid City and also enjoyed her grandchildren very much.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Swanson and her husband John, Rapid City, and Barbara Munoz and her husband, Angel, Rapid City; two sons, Clark "Bill" Butts, Rapid City and James Butts and his wife Kate, Bigfork; Her sister, Lisa Patterson and her husband Clair, Keystone; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clark in 1990, two brothers and three sisters. Visitation was from 6 until 7 pm, with Christian wake services at 7 pm on Sunday, Dec. 18, at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 10 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 19, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Kevin Achbach as the celebrant. Private family internment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Keystone.
