TU meets

The Flathead Chapter of Trout Unlimited meets Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bohemian Grange on Highway 93 south of Whitefish, The public is invited!

Ryan Aaschim Conservation Director of the Big Blackfoot Chapter of Trout Unlimited is the guest speaker.

Close-Up auction

The annual Close-Up auction at the Blue Moon is at 6 p.m. Jan. 20. To donate or questions 892-6500 ext. 258. Free eats go with the live auction. The auction benefits the high school group, which goes to Washington, D.C each year to learn about U.S. government.

West Glacier theater

West Glacier School will have its Missoula Children's Theater production of Pinocchio Feb. 10. There will be a silent auction the evening of the event. The play starts at 7 p.m. tickets are $5 per person, $15 per family.

Little guy wrestling

Little Guy wrestling season is coming and we would like to promote the season by inviting all little guy wrestlers or perspective wrestlers to the final home dual Jan 21, which is also senior night. All little guy wrestlers and parents are encouraged to attend to get information about wrestling sign-ups. Actual sign-ups are held Sunday Feb. 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sign-up cost $35 for first through sixth grade. Seventh and eighth grade are school sponsored and therefore free. Pee-Wee Wrestlers 5-6 years old that are not in first grade wrestle two weeks with limited competition. Wrestling begins Feb. 13.

Winter safety

The Montana Wilderness Association is sponsoring no-cost workshops for the public on Winter Survival skills. The workshops will focus on the essential needs for short-term survival in winter. The courses will be limited to 25 students each day. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Students will spend the entire course outdoors and will work around an open fire, so please dress accordingly. Contact Roger Sherman, 862-0438 to sign up.

Eagles meet

The North Valley Eagles will hold a steak fry Jan. 21 for $8.50 at 6:30 p.m. Groups of six or more please call for reservations at 892-4081.

Driver's ed

Sign up now for Columbia Falls High School driver's education. Call 892-6500 for more information. Class starts Feb. 1.

Ruder theater

Ruder Elementary will present the Missoula Children's Theater production of Robin Hood Jan. 21 at the High School Little Theater at 3 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $3 per child or $5 for adult or $15 for group of six.

Free meals

Free meals will once again be served starting Saturday, Jan. 28, through Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. in the basement of St. Richard's Catholic Church.

Toastmasters

Toastmasters meets Jan. 23rd from noon to 1 p.m. At the Columbia Falls City Hall, council chambers. Everyone is welcome. Please call Kristi Hatfield 892-2868.
