Ralph Moore

Ralph Wilson Moore, 86, of Whitefish, passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2006, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, in Mooresville, N.C.

Ralph was born in 1919 to the late Carl C. Moore and Ella Dahler Moore. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Guadalcanal, and had retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad as a locomotive engineer.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a skilled fly tyer.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Moore; his sister, Mae King; and his son, Loren Gary Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma Jean Moore; a daughter, Terry Thain and husband Jim, of Mooresville, N.C.; a son, Warren K. Moore and wife Cheryl, of Cypress, Texas; a sister, Karlene Meador, of Sweeny, Texas; grandchildren Jennifer Doering, David and Whitney Moore, Jon and Brian Pyles, DeNese Wilson, Daniel Thain, Terrie Jean Crosby, Jimmie Adams and Angie Peterson; and 16 great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, in Mooresville, N.C., Jan. 19, 2006, with Rev. Mike Macdonald officiating. Another memorial service will be held in Whitefish at a later date.
