Women meet

The Columbia Falls Womens' Connection meets at 11:30 a.m. July 19 at the North Valley Community Building for an ice cream social. Cost is $7. Call 387-4119 or 892-5990 for reservations.

Interlocal

The North Fork Interlocal meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. July 19 at Sondreson Hall. Meeting is proceeded by a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. hosted by the Glacier Institute. This is a chance for locals to learn about events and government plans in the North Fork.

Concert tonight

The Lions Club Concert series continues tonight (Thursday) at Marantette Park in Columbia Falls with the Flathead Ragtime Orchestra and the Rocky Mountain Rhythm Kings at 8 p.m. Next week's concert is Cocinado, a Latin jazz group.

Three-on-three

Register for the Columbia Falls Heritage Days Three-on-three basketball tourney July 29 in Columbia Falls. Registration forms can be picked up at Orthopedic Rehab, the city library or by calling 892-0681.

Bird outing

Enjoy both birds and wildflowers of Glacier National Park with Flathead Audubon on Sunday, July 16. The trip involves a moderately strenuous hike up to Piegan Pass. Meet at the Apgar Visitor Center at 6 a.m. and carpool to the trailhead. Bring binoculars and lunch. Humane carnival

Join the Humane Society for its first Hot Dogz and Cool Catz Summer Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. It will have food, games, tours of the Center and its new Mobile Adoption Vehicle. All proceeds will help support the Society. Call 752-7297 for more information.

No burning

Columbia Falls Fire Chief Bob Webber reminds folks there is no open burning within the Columbia Falls Rural Fire Protection District due to current fire behavior, deceptively dry fuels, and to be consistent with county and state laws which don't allow open burning in the months of July, August and September.

Raceway Park

Montana Raceway Park will have its annual Montana 200 this week, with practices Thursday (today) and races Friday night and Saturday night. Races start about 7 p.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. Friday, with time beforehand to meet and greet drivers. Practice runs Thursday are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 257-7223, for more information.

Quilters meet

Teakettle Quilt Guild meeting will be held at the North Valley Falls Community Center on Nucleus Avenue 10 a.m. July 15. After a brief business meeting they will sew. Bring your sewing machine.
