Getting involved

| June 14, 2006 11:00 PM

We want to thank the neighbors around Soroptimist Park for their enthusiasm and interest in helping to create a pesticide-free park in their neighborhood. Several residents, of a variety of ages, recently attended an informal gathering in the park to hear a vision of what could happen.

Various neighbors shared their concerns and were excited to learn how they could help make this a reality. It was inspiring to witness their community spirit and willingness to be involved and work together. Before everyone left, they planned a potluck and work party for June 14.

We also want to extend thanks to the generosity and support of two local merchants who provided refreshments for this gathering — Montana Coffee Traders and Super 1 Foods.

This gathering was an example of the extraordinary attitude of Whitefish residents to be involved.
