Elsie Robinson
Elsie May Robinson, 88, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 7, 2006, at her home in Whitefish.
She was born on June 2, 1918, in Westhope, N.D., the oldest of 10 children. The Livesay family moved to Montana, where Elsie met and married Alvin Robinson.
She helped run the family sawmill in Fortine. Later, the Robinsons relocated to Whitefish. After raising their four children, she traveled with Alvin on the railroad.
After his retirement, they traveled to Arizona in the winter and spent some time fishing and camping with their grandchildren in the summers. The grandchildren were a special part of their lives.
Elsie was a long-standing member of the Whitefish Moose Lodge. She loved bingo and was a member of the Bingo Babes.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, in August 1992.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Forschen, of Minot, N.D.; her brother, Ted Livesay, and wife Nancy, in Garrison, N.D.; sons John Robinson, and wife Geraldine, and Harold Robinson, and wife Linda; her daughters Elsie and Ray and Alta and Dan; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held June 13, 2006, at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.
