William Reimer

Dr. William G. Reimer, 79, of Ontario, Ore., passed away Feb. 17, 2006, in Ontario.

William was born June 2, 1926, in Groversville, N.Y., an only child of Paul and Hazel Reimer. After graduating from high dchool at Groversville, he joined the Navy from 1943 to 1946, where he served as a 1st class officer and naval ship photographer.

In February 1946, he met his first wife, Earleen Doris Wright. They were married on Dec. 29, 1946, while attending Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Indiana. He later earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Western States College, in Portland, Ore. He was selected to be the first non-allopathic physician to start a practice in Idaho.

Dr. Reimer and his wife moved to Homedale in 1951 to establish his profession, were he home delivered and raised his seven children. He became active with the Homedale Kiwanis and was a member of The National Association of Coroners.

In 1977, Dr. Reimer married Jeanie Stark and relocated his office to Ontario. He continued with his research and education, attending seminars, workshops and discoveries. Dr. Reimer dedicated his entire life to the health and well being of others. He also worked in Whitefish from time to time.

Dr. Reimer was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter-in-law Francis Reimer.

Dr. Reimer leaves his beloved wife, Jeanie; daughter Susie Lzicar and husband Dick; and Doris Kelly, mother of sons and daughters Jodi Cuccia, Paul Reimer, Jim Reimer and his wife Jan, Dean Reimer, Kandie Reimer, Patrice Cornwell and her husband Ron, Celeste Sweet and her husband Dan; and 17 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Memorial services took place Feb. 23, 2006, at the Elks Lodge in Ontario under the direction of Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel, Ontario.
