Chrysler mistaken

| March 16, 2006 11:00 PM

Mr. Chrysler should check his facts before writing letters to be read by the public. In a recent letter printed in valley newspapers he stated that my husband, Rep. Verdell Jackson, and I do not live in Senate District 5. This is not true! Verdell is a senate candidate for SD5. State law requires that a candidate live in the district, if that district includes parts of more than one county.

Since moving here 15 years ago, we have lived and voted in SD5. SD5 includes the areas of South Kalispell, Lower Valley, Creston, Many Lakes, Bigfork, Somers, Lakeside, Swan Valley, and the east side of Flathead Lake down to Polson.

Also, the issues mentioned in Mr. Chrysler's letter (traffic, growth and environment) are generally local issues handled by the county commissioners. Since Verdell and I live in the county, he closely follows these issues because all unincorporated areas such as Bigfork are affected by the same issues.
