Skateboarders appreciate help

| May 3, 2006 11:00 PM

On behalf of the Whitefish Skateboard Association, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their time, effort, support and cash donations to help make the Dave Olseth Memorial Skate Park a reality.

The skateboard park is now open to all skateboarders and roller-bladers. If you haven't stopped by the park yet, you should, and we are sure that you will be as impressed as we are. You can also visit us on the Web at www.skateswhitefish.com.

We would also like to thank Dreamland Skate Parks for the beautiful job they did constructing the park. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful place to skateboard in Whitefish. We also want to thank the city of Whitefish for all of their time spent with Dreamland and the Whitefish Skateboard Association helping to create the park.

We have a landscaper working on the grounds around the park, with grass, trees and picnic tables. The landscaping should be completed soon. This is your skateboard park, so please treat it with respect. Helmets are not required, but are strongly recommended to help prevent injury.

We are in the process of organizing a grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 15, with a day of music, food and fun. If you have any ideas on making this day a special event, please contact me.

Thanks again for everyone's hard work in making the Dave Olseth Memorial Skate Park a reality. Whitefish is truly an amazing community.
