Mountain man

Senate District 5 is an extraordinary political product. This is the first election in its existence as a voting unit.

In a happy coincidence, District 5 is also a very special piece of geography with a unique combination of five small communities: Finley Point, Bigfork, South Kalispell and the Lower Valley, Somers and Lakeside and their connecting rural areas. Together they form a braid of population spread around the north half of Flathead Lake with shared economies and entrepreneurial interests, magnificent scenery, common growth problems and a strong attachment to the places where we live.

Ronald Reagan in 1966 said, "Let us find men to match our mountains."

Don Loranger, Republican candidate for District 5 is such a "man to match our mountains." He has the integrity, the solid substance, the streams of focused energy and the heights of purpose to fulfill the large expectations of those who are fortunate enough to live and vote in this favored place. Don Loranger has the honed leadership and people skills to carry our shared causes to the Montana Legislature. We need his energy and dedication to help preserve this land of promise and economic potential for our grandchildren.

Our vote in the June 6 Primary will offer opportunities and carry weight beyond our day-to-day living and making a living. I am voting for Don Loranger.
