Jackson will work for the people

| October 11, 2006 11:00 PM

Representative Verdell Jackson is a strong supporter of access to public lands and has proved that many times. I am writing to thank him for his assistance is restoring the easement to my parcel of land near Macgregor Lake. The access road which I had used for fifty years was suddenly closed by the Montana Fish and Game when they acquired an adjacent parcel and denied my easement. My only alternative for access to the property was a steep gully, which was literally inaccessible.

I was then stuck with 80 acres of land for which I was being taxed but could not use or sell. As a senior citizen, this land was intended as a portion of my retirement investment.

Representative Jackson investigated the problem. He persisted in his efforts until Fish and Game officials agreed to meet and tour the property. Upon being shown first hand how their decision was denying access to my land, Fish and Game allowed me to document and record my easement.

I am sure that without the diligence of Representative Verdell Jackson I would have lost this bureaucratic battle. I believe that as a member of the Senate, Mr. Jackson will continue his work for the people who elected him to achieve justice and common sense. I hope that you will vote for Verdell Jackson on November 7th.
