Four reasons for Burns

| October 25, 2006 11:00 PM

I will vote for Conrad Burns for these reasons:

1) He is a conservative who believes in the United States; it is rare these days to find a politician who is not blaming his country for all of the terrible things happening in the world, and who is not belittling our president at every turn.

2) He is right about immigration with no amnesty. We have been invaded by our neighbors to the south. On May 1, 2006, many Mexicans began a campaign for "reconquesta." Do we give in to this invasion, or do we maintain our sovereignty?

3) He has remained consistent on Homeland Security; the importance of an operative, visible border between the US and Mexico; and national ID cards to be used as voter identification.

4) As a senior senator, he is able to represent Montana's interests better than a freshman senator; and, as a Republican, his goals and philosophy will better serve the people of our state.

And a note about the budget: Governor Schweitzer and Mr. Tester did not personally balance the Montana budget, as they indicate in their ads. The Senate and House together crafted a plan for allotment of state funds in compliance with a Montana law requiring that the budget be balanced.

I support Conrad Burns in this election and look forward to a celebration of yet another Republican victory in November.
