Filling the boot

| September 6, 2006 11:00 PM

It is with immense gratitude to the generous people of Whitefish and the surrounding areas that we are writing about the success of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Fill-the-Boot fund-raiser held by the Whitefish firefighters.

The event was held on Aug. 12 and raised more than $5,500 to help MDA families throughout the state of Montana.

There are so many benevolent individuals and groups to recognize that helped make the day victorious for Jerry's Kids. Thanks to Whitefish area fire fighters and families, and the city officials of Whitefish for understanding the importance of the firefighters.

A special thank you goes to all the generous citizens who showed their support for MDA by putting their spare change in the firefighters' boots as they passed by that day.

The money raised from this event will go towards providing services to more than 500 Montanans with a neuromuscular disease.

MDA helps families with purchasing wheelchairs and leg braces, and provides doctors clinics in Great Falls, Billings and Missoula.

The donations also go towards sending children in Montana with a muscle disease to a summer camp every spring.

MDA appreciates the continued support of everyone in Whitefish and the surrounding areas!
