Cornstalks, straw bales and scarecrows will decorate Columbia Falls again this fall. The Columbia Falls Chamber will spear head the decorating campaign.

Call 892-2072 or 892-7283 if you would like straw delivered to your business for the annual fall decorating contest.

MCT at Gateway

The Missoula Children's Theater is coming to Glacier Gateway Elementary Sept. 23, with performances of the Little Mermaid at 3 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family and will be available at the door. The show itself is at the Little Theater at the High School.

Book sale

The Flathead County Library system is having its annual book sale at the Kalispell Center Mall. Look for book drop-off locally at Smith's grocery. Sale is Oct. 6-8 at the Kalispell Center Mall.

Realtors' drive

On Sept. 26 local Realtors will be picking up food from area homes for their annual food drive for the Flathead's Food pantries. Agents will drop off bags at homes and folks are asked to put non-perishable items in the bags so they can be picked up. You can also drop off food at any real estate office in the valley.

Valleyaires

The Flathead Valleyaires will have an open house at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at Epworth Methodist Church in Kalispell. Call Wes at 892-5953 for more information.

Firemen's ball

The Coram West Glacier Firemen's Ball is at 8 p.m. Sept. 23 (Saturday) at the Dew Drop Inn in Coram. The Don Lawrence Orchestra will play and there will be many items up for auction, including a log bench donated by Michelle and Tony Whitaker. Raffle tickets are also being sold for $1 for a $1,000 shopping Spree at Bitney's Home Furnishings. Tickets can be purchased at the Glacier Center or the Dew Drop or any fire member. Young Guns

The Young Guns 4-H shooting club will have an informational meeting Sept. 23, 7:30 p.m. at the North Valley Community Center. Young guns is a youth sports shooting club, competing in both bow and arrow and air rifle and pistol events against other 4-H shooting clubs. Call 892-5743 for more information.

Trapper ed

Registration is now open for the annual Trapper Education Course, slated for Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lawrence Park in Kalispell. To register for the course, stop by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks on North Meridian Road.

Merchants meet

Columbia Falls Uptown Merchants Association meets Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Arrowhead Fine Art & Framing at 422 Nucleus Ave.
