Park plan on hold

| September 27, 2006 11:00 PM

As a member of the Lakehills/Crestview park committee, I wanted to inform the community that we have withdrawn our application to the county. Given the controversy over the use of this space, the committee felt it was best to discontinue development of the park as originally planned. Because there has been such a tremendous and positive response to this park project, I hope some amenities will be incorporated into this open space in the future.

Through the endeavor of promoting the park, I have had the opportunity to meet many remarkable people in Bigfork. I am very grateful for the support, appreciation, pledges, donations and guidance from many people, businesses and organizations: Flathead County Parks Department, Community for a Better Bigfork, Bigfork Rotary Club, Lion's Club, Bigfork Chamber of Commerce, Bigfork Steering Committee, Flathead Bank, Rocky Mountain Bank, Glacier Bank, Valley Maintenance, Bigfork Physical Therapy, Martel Construction, Bigfork Medical Clinic, Local Joe's, Swan River Gardens, Becker Architecture, Iron Horse Properties, Flathead Electric, Chrysler and Gordon, Caldwell- Banker, REMAX, Bob Ross at Kompan Playgrounds, Chris Moritz, Andrea Goff, Donna Lawson, Gretchen Gates, Bill Leininger, Dan Purcell, Shelley Gonzales, and Sue Hanson. Thank you also to the many other individuals who have donated money to the project. Thanks to all for your support!
