Attack on Foley is disgusting

I was stunned when I saw the sign with graffiti on it in last week’s paper. After hearing that the sign was then stolen made things even worse. What in the world is happening here?

I am disgusted by the attempts to vilify Bill Foley. As far as I can see, he moved into town and paid fair price for the businesses that he purchased. I don’t find a trail of widows and orphans that he cheated out of money.

It is amazing to me that people have decided to demonize him. What, because he is a good businessman? Because he has made money and can buy the businesses that he wants to own? Last time I checked, we lived in a capitalist system, and Mr. Foley appears to be a very good capitalist.

As a citizen of this town, I am not going to laugh at criminals who paint over signs, at criminals who steal anything, and at people who cast baseless slurs against another resident of Whitefish without bothering to identify themselves.

We cannot allow this type of behavior to pollute our lives in Whitefish. I think it is time for some of our residents to grow up.
