Discrimination against Christianity
I'm writing concerning the discrimination against Christianity expressed at the Bigfork "Relay for Life". My son's band, "The Four Square Arena" (a popular local teen rock band whose lyrics reflect their Christian world view) was scheduled to play at the Relay. They even rebooked a gig in Spokane so they could do it and be of service to the community. But the organizers wanted just "regular" music. In walking around at one Relay for Life I noticed the singer was singing Clapton's song "Cocaine". Nobody seemed to have a problem with a song promoting drug use but the promoters cancel four 16 year olds whose lyrics reflect the "In God We Trust" values our founding Fathers held to in establishing this great county.
As our State burns up people I meet say, "we should pray for rain". Perhaps more important than praying for rain would be to order our lives and communities in such a way that God would bless us. In the book of Haggai God tells the people, "Each of you is prioritizing and serving your own house and your own world while my house is neglected… because of this the heavens above you are as brass and the moisture is withheld". He advised them to get back to church and start spending some of their time and money on God's House… the message was "You take care of my house, and I'll take care of your house." The people heeded God's counsel and because they did God made this promise to them,
"Mark the day on your calendar when you began obeying me, from that day on I will bless you."
