Decorating the downtown

| December 6, 2007 11:00 PM

Thanks to the many willing volunteers that made this year’s Whitefish Christmas decorations effort a success.

First to the “refurbishment crew” that came to the Armory on Wednesday nights all fall to get the decorations re-built and ready to hang.

And then to all who put them up on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, including the Flathead Electric Cooperative people headed by Pat Muri, Terry Conat with his bucket truck, and the city crew.

A strong turnout by the Whitefish High School Honor Society, along with several from businesses as well as many local citizens, made the installation go quickly so that we were finished by 1 p.m. that day.

And a special thank you to the Great Northern Bar for providing lunch as always, to our hungry volunteers. They fed nearly 60 people that Sunday.

Without the good volunteer effort, this would be a very difficult task, so we send our thanks to each of you who helped make “Whitefish Shine” for the Christmas season.
