Frank Brousseau

Frank James Brousseau, 83, passed away Dec. 5, 2007, at Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

He was born June 25, 1924, in Saginaw, Mich., to Frank and Gladys Brousseau Sr. After high school, he entered the Navy on July 2, 1943, and served as an aviation radioman 2nd class.

After he was honorably discharged in April 1946, he married Madonna Hopkins, whom he met in San Francisco. They were married in Glasgow on Oct. 10, 1946. They moved to Whitefish and raised five children.

Frank worked for the Chevrolet Garage for 30 years. He was known to be one of the best body and paint men in the state.

While raising four sons and a daughter, he was very active in the community as a coach for Pee Wee through American Legion ball. He wanted all the boys from the 1950s and 1960s to know how much he enjoyed his coaching experience and to thank them all for the memories.

Frank also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

After Donna passed away in 1980, he married Joanne Carter in 1982, and they later divorced.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Frank is survived by his five children, Maurice, of Whitefish, Jim, on Middle Thompson Lake, Dean of Libby, Peggy, of Kalispell, and Patrick, of Columbia Falls; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish on Dec. 15, 2007, at 11 a.m. A reception and luncheon at the VFW Post 276 will follow the services.
