Quilt meeting
The Columbia Falls Teakettle Quilt Guild has been challenged by the Whitefish Quilt Guild to make 10 quilts for the Flathead Attention House. They will be meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Community Center, 235 Nucleus Avenue.
Eagles steak
The North Valley Eagles Auxiliary will have its monthly steak fry at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20. Call 892-4081 for reservations.
Legislature class
Dee Brown will offer Legislature 101 at the Columbia Falls Jr. High School Library computer lab. The six-week course starts Thursday, Jan. 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Course covers topics on how to research and navigate through the state's Web site in the following areas: legislators and how to contact, getting involved, testifying on a proposed bill, current proposals, branches of the government, and making government work for the taxpayer.
Basic computer knowledge is a requirement. Course fee is $20.
Tai Chi class
A seven-week Tai Chi course will be instructed by Tama Hader at the Glacier Gateway multipurpose room from 6:30-7:30 p.m. starting Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Course teaches the gentle Chinese art using slow, flowing movements for easing sore joints, muscles and is often described as meditation in motion. Course fee is $35. Call Jan Graham at 892-6562 for further information or registration of either class.
Big brothers

Stamp club
The Glacier Stamp Club meets on Feb. 5 in the basement meeting room of the Flathead County Library.Stamp trading and APS circuit review will begin at 7 p.m. Business meeting and election of officers will follow at 7:30 p.m. There will be an open auction after the meeting visitors are welcome. Artist program
Artists are sought to participate in the 2007 Artist-Wilderness-Connection program. Professional working artists of various disciplines, media and styles spend from 7 to 14 days in a remote forest cabin on the Flathead National Forest to focus on their art.
